Trent Bridge Cricket Ground – ‘Powered by Yü Energy’

In this case study we showcase our wide-ranging energy partnership to power the iconic Trent Bridge cricket ground.

We’re delighted to have partnered with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club (Notts CCC) to power Trent Bridge cricket ground. Recognised as an iconic international sporting venue, Trent Bridge is not only the best attended UK cricket venue outside of London, it also holds a global top 10 ranking for spectator experience at sporting venues. Notts CCC were shortly due to renew their supply contract and were looking for a long-term partner to deliver a cost-effective solution for their future energy and water needs. The energy requirements spanned multiple meters and locations, powering the cricket ground, training facilities, conferencing and media centre.

The team at Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club were impressed by our unique multi-utility offering, providing the convenience of sourcing their gas, electricity and water all from one supplier. It was our focus on customer care alongside an open, transparent approach to partnerships that was appealing to Trent Bridge and acted as a key driver behind their decision to have all of their energy needs provided by a single supplier.

A wide-ranging, long-term partnership was agreed with Nottinghamshire CCC which will see us powering both the club’s Trent Bridge cricket ground and training ground with the supply of gas, electricity and water. We will continue to work in partnership with Nottinghamshire CCC to identify further areas where our range of Energy Solutions can help to further optimise the Trent Bridge Energy portfolio via energy efficiency and renewable and sustainable energy initiatives, as well as enhancing facilities for spectators and media with the provision of mobile phone charging points.

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Commercial Director Michael Temple outlined the reasons for choosing Yü Energy to power Trent Bridge.

“Our partnership with Yü Energy is a natural fit given their commitment to Nottingham, their national outlook and their commitment to working with like-minded businesses to make a meaningful difference through energy supply,” he said.

“The competition in their sector is intense and we are especially pleased to have found an energy partner with a whole-hearted commitment to customer service and innovation.

“We look forward to working closely with Yü Energy to bring our partnership to life by making further strides in the Trent Bridge customer experience of which we are already extremely proud.”

Commenting on the partnership, Yü Energy CEO, Bobby Kalar said

“We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. It’s an honour for Yü Energy to be powering Trent Bridge cricket ground which is such an iconic international sporting venue. Our partnership will allow Trent Bridge to benefit from our unique multi-utility offering, with the convenience of bringing together the gas, electricity and water supply all in one place. We believe this is just the start of an exciting long-term partnership.”
