Benefits of Smart Meters for Businesses

We’re committed to following the Smart Meter Installation Schedule (SMIS) for all our smart meter installations. This means we will ensure that your smart meter installation process goes as smoothly as possible.  

Once you’ve agreed your new contract, we will get in touch with your smart meter installation date. This will usually be within 21 days of your supply start date. 

On the day of your installation, you will need to make sure a responsible person aged 18 or over is present, our engineer can access your property, and that your existing meter is accessible. Your engineer will contact you to let you know they’re on the way. Please note that we will need to turn off your electricity for a short period, but this should take no longer than 30 minutes. 

We believe that smart meters will provide the best experience for our customers, saving time by negating manual meter reads, and money by eliminating estimated billing. We are also working alongside the UK government’s initiative to get all homes and businesses using smart meters by the end of June 2025. This initiative aims to reduce energy waste and give customers more control over their energy usage.
