Deemed Energy Plan, a Transition Energy Plan or a Payment Default Plan

Find out more about your energy plan. Depending on your circumstances you may find yourself on a Deemed Energy Plan, a Transition Energy Plan or a Payment Default Plan.

Our Deemed Plan will apply if we supply a site with electricity, gas or water without specific contract details having been agreed. Typically, this applies if your business moves into premises we already supply. These prices will continue to apply until a contract is agreed or we stop supplying the site.

If you’re supplied on a Deemed Energy Plan, get in touch to see how much you could save by switching to one of our Fixed Energy Plans.

If you choose not to renew your Fixed Energy or Water Plan and terminate your contract with us but another supplier does not register your meter point, our Transition Plan will apply.

You can contact us at any point and agree a new Plan (either Fixed or Freedom), or should you wish to complete your change of supplier, ensure your account balance is cleared before instructing your new supplier to make the transition process simple.

The Freedom plan provides a flexible business energy plan solution with a 30-day notice period if you wish to leave. Prices are fixed and are reviewed periodically. We’ll email you in advance to let you know the latest Freedom rates and advise you of any changes. You can choose to move to one of our fixed term contracts at any time. For businesses who require the ability and freedom to move their energy supply at short notice.

If you default on the agreed payment terms in your contract and we are unable to collect your payment, you’ll move onto our Payment Default Price Plan. We will provide details of your Payment Default Energy Plan to you by email, letter or phone call. It will remain in place until your payments are brought up to date.

What is a Smart Default Tariff (SDT)?

SDT stands for Smart Default Tariff and is a higher rate applied to customers who have signed up to our smart meter plan, but have refused a smart meter installation.

Will I be notified that I am being switched to SDT?

Yes. We will email you, or notify you by mail, 14 days prior to being moved to SDT.

Why is SDT being applied?

SDT (or smart default tariff) is applied when your contract is subject to the installation of a smart meter and installation is refused or your property cannot accommodate a smart meter.

Prior to SDT being applied, we will have made several attempts to contact you to book your smart meter installation.

How much is SDT?

Our SDT rates will be an increase of 14% on your unit rates and 12% on standing charges.

How do I avoid being placed onto SDT?

You must book your smart meter installation. To do this, please call our dedicated booking line on 0333 009 8221.
